My latest project
Aside from trying to figure out what will be required of me by the IRS (yipee) now that things are taking off a bit, I've been working on a bust of Jesus Crucified for a man as a surprise for his wife. I'm very pleased with how this one is turning out! I've done this exact bust before, but this is by far my favorite. My customer requested blue eyes, so I've dark a dark blue-grey shade and I am adding a lot of grey highlights in the irises. The crown of thorns are a deep green. The hair is dark brown, but I added some lighter shades of brown to highlight. When I'm finished tweaking the eyes, I will begin the antiquing process. This is my favorite part. Every time I antique a piece, I am amazed at its effect. It brings the entire piece together and brings it to life. Even with lighter pieces that I've been tempted to not antique, I've always been glad I did. When I'm done with this piece, I will post photos. I can't wait!
